City Celebrates Official Opening of Fire Station 5
The City of Statesville officially celebrated the opening of Fire Station 5 today with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the station located at 533 Gaither Road.
Residents, elected officials, community partners, project team members, City staff, and members of the Statesville Fire Department gathered to celebrate the completion of the project and recognize the collaboration that made it possible.
The ceremony included remarks from Fire Chief Glenn Kurfees, City Manager Ron Smith, and Mayor Doug Hendrix, followed by the official ribbon cutting and tours of the station.
Fire Station 5 was created by renovating an existing home and adding a new apparatus bay, transforming the property into a fully functioning fire station. By repurposing the existing structure, the city was able to maximize its investment while delivering an efficient and cost-effective public safety facility. The project expands the Statesville Fire Department's ability to serve the community by improving response times, enhancing fire protection, and supporting the city's continued growth.
Guests were invited to tour the station, meet firefighters, and learn more about the facility and the services it will provide to the community.
The City of Statesville extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who attended the ribbon cutting and to the many City employees, architects, engineers, contractors, and project partners whose dedication and hard work brought this project to completion.
Fire Station 5 will officially begin serving the community on Monday, July 6, marking an important investment in public safety and the future of Statesville.
