The City of Statesville requires that property owners/landlords provide and maintain working smoke alarms in rental units. Please contact your landlord if you rent your home/apartment and are in need of a smoke alarm.

While the department does not provide bedside fire alarm devices directly, we can assist residents by connecting them with trusted partners, including the American Red Cross, who offer programs and resources designed to support individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
