Structure Collapse and Fire at C&H Laundry Under Investigation

The individual who tragically lost his life in yesterday’s vehicle accident at C&H Laundry has been identified as Alexander Sheppard, 30, of Statesville. The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are available at this time. We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Sheppard’s family and friends during this difficult time.

STATESVILLE, NC – March 6, 2025 – At approximately 10:17am, emergency responders were dispatched to a structure collapse at C&H Laundry, located at 1406 Shelton Avenue, following a single-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, crews from the Statesville Fire Department and Statesville Police Department found that a vehicle had crashed into the building, resulting in a fire. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames and secure the scene.

Tragically, one individual was found deceased inside the vehicle. No other injuries have been reported.

A joint investigation is underway by the Statesville Fire Department and the Statesville Police Department. Authorities are requesting that anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information contact the Statesville Police Department at 704-878-3406.

We are grateful for the swift response and coordination of all agencies involved, including the Iredell County Rescue Squad, Iredell County EMS, Iredell County Sheriff’s Department, Troutman Fire Department, and all other agencies that were on standby. Their dedication and support were invaluable in managing this incident.

The investigation remains active, and no further details are available at this time.
