Statesville Fire Department Welcomes 19 New Firefighters

Last Updated 1/29/2026Posted in Fire News

The Statesville Fire Department is proud to welcome 19 new firefighters who officially began their careers with the City of Statesville today. Their arrival marks an exciting milestone for the department and a continued commitment to protecting our growing community.

The new recruits’ first day focused on City of Statesville human resources onboarding, including required paperwork and orientation. While not the most visible part of the job, this step lays the foundation for a career dedicated to service, teamwork, and public safety.

Beginning tomorrow, the recruits will head to Mitchell Community College, where they will undergo several months of comprehensive training. This rigorous program will prepare them with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to meet the demands of modern fire and emergency services.

These firefighters were hired in anticipation of Fire Station 5, which is scheduled to open in July 2026. Their addition reflects a proactive investment in the future of emergency response in Statesville and ensures the department is well-positioned to continue providing high-quality service as the community grows.

The Statesville Fire Department is excited to welcome these individuals to our fire family and looks forward to watching them develop into skilled, confident firefighters.

Stay tuned as we follow their journey - this is just the beginning.
