SFD Announces Promotion of Shane Schantzenbach

The Statesville Fire Department is proud to announce the promotion of Master Firefighter Shane Schantzenbach to the position of Lieutenant, effective November 25, 2024.

Lieutenant Schantzenbach has dedicated more than 16 years to serving the City of Statesville Fire Department, beginning his career in January 2008. Throughout his tenure, he has earned numerous certifications and has been an invaluable asset to the department. Among his many contributions, Lieutenant Schantzenbach has been instrumental in leading the department's Drone Program, showcasing his commitment to innovation and public safety.

In his new role, Lieutenant Schantzenbach will be assigned to Station 1/Ladder 1 on C-shift, where he will continue to serve the community with dedication and leadership.

"Lieutenant Schantzenbach exemplifies the qualities of leadership and dedication that we value in the Statesville Fire Department," said Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Bell. "His commitment to excellence and his ability to inspire those around him make him a natural fit for this role. We look forward to seeing him thrive in this new position."
